David Seamon is a versatile and accomplished pianist, and former symphony conductor, with a rich musical background that spans multiple genres. Born and raised in New York, David received his formal training at the prestigious Juilliard School and the University of Michigan.
David's musical journey took him to Portland in the 1990s, where he served as Assistant Conductor to James DePreist. During his time in Portland, David also shared his passion for music through teaching music appreciation classes and hosting his own radio show, 'The Great Interpretations,' on KBPS 89.9 Classical.
As a skilled pianist, David's repertoire is vast and eclectic, encompassing classical, musical theater, the American songbook, popular music, jazz, and film scores. He delights in taking requests from audiences and is known for his ability to seamlessly transition between genres.
For seven years, David was the resident pianist at The Allison Inn, performing weekly, as well as at wineries and private events throughout Oregon and Washington. With his state-of-the-art digital piano, David can bring the sound of a Steinway Grand to any venue.
Currently, David can be found performing every Friday and Saturday evening from 6-10 PM at Mother's Bistro & Bar in Portland, Oregon, where he is the resident pianist. This intimate setting provides the perfect opportunity to experience David's exceptional talent up close.
David's exceptional talent has earned him praise from critics and audiences alike. Melinda Green, formerly of the Seattle Times, says: "I have heard some of the world's greatest pianists, and it was a welcome surprise to hear playing of that caliber from David."
